The new fiscal year for the State of South Dakota appears to be on a good track so far.
Governor Dennis Daugaard says overall state tax revenues are above projections.
Daugaard says sales taxes, which make up the bulk of state revenues, were up sharply.
Daugaard says the tobacco tax was the only one that dipped lower.
The Governor says the tourism tax is also tracking higher.
Online taxes will begin to be collected November first, but Daugaard says the first reports on those won’t be available until early next year.
