The first significant snow of the season in central South Dakota is possible starting late tonight and continuing through tomorrow (Wed.).
Meteorologist Nick Carlyle says a winter weather advisory begins at midnight. Hand County is included in the advisory area.
The National Weather Service says motorists should be prepared for wintry driving conditions starting after midnight tonight. Snow may initially only accumulate on grassy surfaces. Accumulations on roadways are more uncertain, especially during the daytime hours.
