When the South Dakota legislature passed the budget this year, which cut state aid to education, normally it would have also cut local property taxes by the same percentage. A bill sponsored by Senator Larry Rhoden of Union Center prevented that, saving some money for local schools.  He says the true effects of the budget cutting won’t be known for a while…
