Authorities Say There Was No Active Shooter Situation at Aberdeen Hospital

Authorities responded to the Sanford hospital in Aberdeen early Thursday morning after receiving reports of an active shooter.

Upon further investigation no shots were fired and no gun was present in the suspects room.

Authorities, say it is likely the banging of a cane was mistaken for shots fired.

A 54-year-old Webster man has been taken into custody and charges are pending.

Along with Sanford Aberdeen, Mike Miller Elementary school was also put into lockdown as a precautionary measure.
