SD 4-H Scholarships Awarded to Area Students

Ten South Dakota 4-H members were awarded scholarships by SDSU Extension 4-H.
Donors to the scholarship program fund several of these, while the South Dakota 4-H program funds others.
“The individuals chosen have excelled in the classroom, various 4-H projects, and have been involved in their local communities through service projects,” explained John Keimig, SDSU Extension Youth Safety Field Specialist.
2018 Scholarship Winners
John F. and Beryl Younger 4-H Scholarship – recipient is Tucker Bigge a 4-H member in the Davison County program. He will be pursuing his future education at South Dakota State University, pursuing a degree in agricultural education communication and leadership.
Folkerts Family Scholarship – recipient is Makayla DeDeyne, a 4-H member in the Kingsbury County program. She will be pursuing her future education at South Dakota State University, pursuing a degree in economics.
South Dakota 4-H Shooting Sports Scholarship – recipient is Nathan Linke, is a 4-H member in the Sanborn County Program. He will be pursuing his future education at South Dakota State University, pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering.
South Dakota 4-H Shooting Sports Scholarship – recipient is Alexandria Anderson, a 4-H member in the Hamlin County program. She will be pursuing her future education at North Dakota State University, pursuing a natural resources degree.
South Dakota 4-H Shooting Sports Scholarship – recipient is Alexa Hannahs, is a 4-H member in Gregory County. She will be pursuing her future education at North Dakota State University, pursuing a degree in medical laboratory science.
 Robert and Maxine Olson 4-H Endowment – recipient is Matthew Sperry, a 4-H member in Brown County. He will be pursuing his future education at South Dakota State University, pursuing degrees in precision agriculture and agronomy.
Science of Agriculture Scholarships – recipients are the Spink/Hand County Science of Agriculture Team, members include: Kiarra Stuck, Hailie Stuck, Alana Howard and Maya Howard.
Kiarra Stuck is a Spink County 4-H member who will be a sophomore at Northwestern High School this fall.
Hailie Stuck is a Spink County 4-H member who will be a sophomore at Northwestern High School this fall.
Alana Howard is a Hand County 4-H member who will be a freshman at Miller Junior/Senior High School this fall.
Maya Howard is a Hand County 4-H member who will be a seventh grader at Miller Junior/Senior High School this fall.
Scholarship applications are due to the State 4-H Office by April 1 each year. Application instructions for the upcoming 4-H Scholarships can be found on iGrow.org.
