United Way Heartland Region Announces 2019 Campaign Goal

The UWHR board of directors announces the campaign goal for 2019 has been set for $330,000.00. Approximately $392,000.00 in funding was requested. The UWHR will raise funds to support 30 organizations providing funding to numerous programs that impact residents in Beadle and Kingsbury Counties.  In addition, the UWHR also oversees community impact programs and will continue to raise funds to support the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, Heartland Backpack Program, Huron Youth Leadership Council, Delta Dental Smiles Bus, Day of Caring and Day of Action.
The UWHR Board also announced the campaign co-chairs for this year.  Adam Fleischhacker, representing the UW board and Gayle Kludt, executive director of People’s Transit, representing funded organizations will oversee the campaign and assist with workplace campaigns, pacesetter events and other special events being planned.
The organizations receiving funding this year are 211Helpline, Beadle COunty Dive Team, Beadle County Humane SOciety, Beadle County Drug Court, FUMC BelieveFest, Cornerstones Career Learning Center, Karen Association, James Valley Housing, Boy Scouts Sioux Council, DeSmet Public Schools, Huron Public Schools, Huron Hockey Association, Girl Scouts Dakota Horizons, Local Cub Scouts, Local Boy Scouts 151, Lutheran Social Services, HRMC Foundation, The Salvation Army, Wessington Library, Huron Senior Center-Beadle County Nutrition, American Red Cross, Nordby Center for Recreation, Huron Hockey Association, Habitat for Humanity, Helping Hands, HRMC Community Hospice, Stone Church, Huron Ministerial Association, Huron Park & Rec and Huron Community Campus.
