In a Dry Year, an Inch of Rain Sets a Record

While parts of the state have been inundated with rain, so far this year Beadle County hasn’t seen much moisture. All you have to do is look at the rainfall totals for 2018.

Yesterday, Huron set a record that hopefully will soon be broken.

Last night’s shower gave Huron its highest one day rainfall total of the year.

Between 9 and 10pm, around 1 inch of rain was recorded at the Performance Radio studios. Huron Regional Airport received 1.07 inches.

The last significant rainfall total for Huron was 1.58 recorded on Sept. 24th, 2017.
