PUC Considering Several Applications for Wind Power Projects

The South Dakota Public Utilities Commission is seeing a number of new wind power project applications.

PUC Chair Kristie Fiegen says all of the applications are on a tight timeline

A bill to extend the consideration time to one year failed in this year’s legislative session.

Fiegen says each application has some unique conditions

Fiegen says they have another public hearing on a project this week

Many of the wind projects are being pushed by the phase out of the federal production tax credit program.
