In addition to the 1,000 plus 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade rodeo talent competing on the SD State Fairgrounds, shooting sports are also a part of the excitement in Huron this week.
The small-bore rifle shooting competition was held at the Huron Silhouette Club.
Executive Director of the Huron Chamber & Visitors Bureau Laurie Shelton says the event attracts young people whose interests lie beyond rodeo.
