Beerman Scheduled For Court Apperance Today

Former Huron Police Officer and Beadle County Sheriff candidate Tony Beerman is scheduled to appear in court this afternoon in Huron. Beerman’s attorney Jeff Burns requested a preliminary hearing at Beerman’s initial appearance last month. Beerman is accused of sending sexually explicit text messages to a 15-year-old girl. Beerman was fired by the City of Huron as a result of action taken by the City Commission on December 27th of last year. The case is being prosecuted by Codington County States Attorney Dawn Elshere, after Beadle County States Attorney Mike Moore recused himself from the case because of Moore’s close working relationship to Beerman and Beerman’s father, retired Sheriff Tom Beerman
