US Senator Tim Johnson said Wednesday the Wolsey Fire Department is getting just under 101-thousand dollars for new breathing apparatuses. The money will also be use to refurbish existing breathing equipment and to help train firefighters to use the new equipment. The money comes from Department of Homeland Security’s Assistance to Firefighters Grant program.The program provides grants directly to fire departments and emergency medical service organizations to enhance their ability to protect the health and safety of the public in regards to fire and fire-related hazards.
