The Huron City Commission met Monday night at the Huron Municipal Building Commissioners approved March 21st as the bid date for two bid items and awarded a bid to Flatland Concrete of Huron to build a concrete walking trail on top of the Swimming Pool Dike. Also approved was a bid for water and sewer materials. The Commission heard the semi-annual update from the Huron Events Center and Crossroads Hotel and approved an on-sale alcohol license for the upcoming Heartland Pool and Dart tournament. The City renewed a contract with the South Dakota Game Fish and Parks Department regarding the Walk-In Hunting area at the old West landfill and made a change to its agreement with Robert Sharp and Associates for work on the city’s website. 26 new pages are being added to the website including pages for the airport and golf courses. The Commission approved the hiring of a part-time Parks and Rec employee and then met in executive session for a contractual matter.
