Snowfall Records Tumble in Weekend Blizzard

Huron received 15.5 inches of snow this past weekend.

Friday saw a record snowfall of 8 inches, breaking the previous record of 4.6 in 1928. Saturday’s total was 7.5, breaking the old record of 4 inches in 1986.

While it was a lot of snow, we did not break any all time month of April daily accumulation records. Huron received 12.4 inches on April 5, 1938, and 11 inches on April 11, 1929, and April 7, 2000.

Back to 2018, we have received 19.8 inches of snow so far in April, making it the snowiest month this winter.

Other monthly totals were 1.3 in November, 6.9 in December, 6.1 in January, 13.6 in February, and 8.9 in March. The season total is now 56.6 inches.
