The irrigation pipe will also help with the seeding of grass along the sides of the dike. The grass itself with help prevent erosion of the dike. The new dike goes over Waibel Drive and Jersey Avenue and those streets will be paved likely in May. All work on the dike will depend on the weather and possible James River flooding which has an 80-percent chance of producing major flooding this Spring.
