City Approves Agreement with New Recycling Partner

The Huron City Commission has authorized the mayor to sign a material purchase agreement for recyclables between Millenium Recycling of Sioux Falls and the city of Huron.

Solid Waste Department superintendent Dale Fortin says the new partnership won’t change how the city markets its recyclables.

Fortin says the company will also help with education.

The city has already sent two loads to Millenium.

Also last night, the commission approved a request by Beadle County Chapter of the Izaak Walton League of America to use the old trap range for a youth trap shooting program.

The 4-H program would be held one evening per week during the months of June, July, and August. Approximately 20 youth are interested in the program.
