Continuance Granted For Witte

The first court appearance for a school superintendent charged with driving on a revoked license while on probation has been delayed.  Jerauld County States Attorney Casey Bridgeman told Circuit Judge Jon Erickson that attorney Doug Kludt requested a continuance for Lance Witte.  Bridgeman told the judge, Kludt had a court appearance in Huron Tuesday and requested Witte’s initial appearance moved to March 8th in Wessington Springs. Phone calls to Kludt’s office in Huron seeking comment were not returned to Performance Radio Tuesday afternoon.  Witte was arrested near Alpena December 10th.  Witte says he was returning from a meeting and that the whole situation is a misunderstanding, having thought all of his work permit paperwork was properly filed.
