Second degree manslaughter is a Class 4 Felony that carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison and a 20-thousand dollar fine. The recommendations of sentencing call for 90 days in the Beadle County Jail. The state is opposed to a recommendation to allow Gross work release. As a part of his probation Gross must keep his fleet of trucks in proper working order. Erickson said he will wait to review the pre-sentence investigation that was ordered before he would agree to follow the sentencing recommendations. A sentencing date has not been set
