Special Committee Will Consider Discipline for Rapid City Representative

Members of the South Dakota House voted Friday 45 to 13 to set up a special committee on discipline and expulsion to investigate the behavior of Representative David Johnson of Rapid City.

Johnson apologized in the House to fellow Representative Lynne DiSanto of Box Elder, says “his emotions got the better of him.”

Representative Dan Kaiser of Aberdeen led the effort to form the committee following reports of a confrontation between the two

Kaiser says the committee can decide on the discipline needed

The bi-partisan committee will investigate the incident, and recommend penalties, up to expulsion from the House.
