The Huron City Commission held its final Monday night meeting of 2010 last night. Commissioners approved contracts for next year with golf pro Jim Bigelow and city attorney Gerry Kaufmann. The Commission amended some typo’s and errors in the rates resolution passed by the Commission a few weeks ago. First Reading of the Supplemental Appropriations ordinance for next year was last night. The second and final reading is slated for the first week of next year. A steel tank and air pump were appraised at a value of 475 dollars. The 6000 gallon sludge tank and air pump are open for purchase by anyone without bid. The Commission met in executive session for two personnel matters and union negotiations. City Offices will be closed on New Year’s Eve and the Solid Waste collection and rubble site schedules are the same as last week with no extended hours at the rubble site. The site will be closed on Friday and Saturday. Thursdays garbage will be collected Wednesday with Fridays garbage collected on Thursday. The Huron City Commission’s next meeting is Thursday at noon at the Huron Municipal Building so the Commission can pay last minute bills and conduct other end of the year business.
