Public Hearing On Water Tower Grant Held

The Huron City Commission held a public hearing for a Community Development Block Grant application for the construction of a water tower that will service Dakota Provisions, the DayPro rendering plant and the Solid Waste and Water/Sewer Departments. Ted Dickey of the Northeast Council of Governments joined the Commission via speakerphone to hold the public hearing.  He wanted to know what other projects the city has planned. McGirr also brought up eventually replacement of the city’s aging swimming pool which was originally paid for by 50-50 mix of grant money and city funds.
