The Huron School District will be testing the Alert Now Message System this afternoon around 1 o’clock. Superintendent Ross Opsal is reminding residents that this afternoon’s message is only a TEST of the new system. A copy of what will be said in the message is listed below…
“Hello. This is Superintendent Ross Opsal with an important announcement from the Huron Public Schools. This TEST message is to introduce AlertNow, our new school-to-parent communication system. As was announced in the Plainsmen and by KOKK Performance Radio, we will now be able to deliver important information to you quickly and reliably. You will be receiving these messages to notify you about weather related events; such as school closings, late starts, and/or early dismissals (in addition to the radio and television announcements you already receive). In the future, you may also receive other messages regarding such things as; Parent-Teacher Conferences, PTA meetings, Back-to-School Nights, fundraisers, and report card reminders, etc.
