Huron City Commission Meets Tonight

The Huron City Commission is meeting tonight at the Huron Municipal Building. The Commission will hold a public hearing on a Community Development Block Grant application for the construction of a new water tower on Huron’s east side. The Commission will also consider a contract with BTU Engineering for an energy audit. A resolution regarding a review of what the city wants to do with service roads along US Highway 14 is tonight. The Commission will authorize Mayor Dave McGirr to sign a Certified Government Certification Agreement with the State Historical Preservation Office. The Commission has three human resource items to consider including the resignation of Fire Captain Dwayne Pudwell and considering a replacement. The Commission will also announce the Christmas and New Years garbage collection schedules and a reminder that city offices will be closed on Christmas Eve and New Years Eve. The Commission will meet in executive session for union negotiations and a personnel matter and hold a work session to review the 2011 Capital Assets Plan. The Huron City Commission meets tonight at 5:30 PM and the meeting is open to the public.
