Money For Roads Not Likely In 2011 Legislative Session

One big issue that has been in front of the legislature in recent years, and not seen much action is roads. Special committees have looked at funding issues, but lawmakers were unwilling to increase either the gas tax or license fees as recommended.  Veteran legislator and incoming Senator Jim Putnam of Armour says he doesn’t think much will change in the next session…

Counties especially are caught with increasing road costs, and stagnant tax revenues. Putnam says legislators are hearing them, but won’t be able to do much there either…
