SIOUX FALLS, SD – A farm and ag business management specialist will be the featured speaker starting Thursday during a five-city tour focusing on marketing strategies, outlook and crop insurance. The first GrowingOn 2011 seminar will be Thursday evening in Sioux Falls. The tour will also hit Yankton, Watertown, Huron and Mitchell. It’s sponsored by South Dakota Corn Growers Association and Farm Credit Services of America. Steven Johnson of Iowa State University Extension will use cash-grain case studies to help producers learn more about the relationship between farm financials, crop insurance and grain marketing plans. He’ll offer advice on what crop marketing tools will help with decision making, and discuss pricing strategies to manage and protect margins.
