Nationwide, someone needs a unit of blood every 2 to 3 seconds and most of us will need blood in our lifetime.
The need for blood is constant and only volunteer donors can fulfill that need for patients in our community.
With that in mind, the Red Cross has scheduled a blood drive for this Thursday at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, 2040 Ohio Avenue S.W., from 12-6 pm.
Donors will receive a free Red Cross long sleeve T-Shirt, while supplies last.
