Stockgrowers and FSA Helping Fire Victims

The Farm Service Agency and South Dakota Stockgrowers are teaming up to help families affected by the Legion Lake Fire in Custer State Park.

Stockgrowers Director Silvia Christen says livestock losses were minimal, but the need for replacement fencing and hay is great.

Christen says an account has been established at First Interstate Bank called the Legion Lake Fund, where people can donate…

Christen says the F.S.A. is hosting a meeting at the Mueller Center in Hot Springs today to inform affected families about possible programs that may help.

The Legion Lake Fire, started by a downed power line, burned nearly 54,000 acres.
