Northern Plains Winter Could be Wetter and Colder Than Average

Most weather watchers now agree….A La Nina event is underway.

Dennis Todey  with the Midwest Climate Hub says the indications for La Nina conditions have persisted.

A La Nina occurs when Pacific Ocean surface temperatures trend below normal for several months.

Todey says this La Nina is kind of a light weight.

Todey says a La Nina normally means more cold and snow in the northern plains.

Todey says they expectation is that the La Nina will fade rather quickly next spring.
