Police Chief Denny Meyer to Retire After 39 Years

The city has accepted the resignation of Huron Police chief Denny Meyer. He is retiring after 39 years with the department including 3 years as chief, replacing Garry Will Jr. in 2014. The retirement/resignation is effective Dec. 20th. The city will post for the position internally and advertise if necessary.

Also last night, the city approved creation of a separate fund for the Public Works Building Project. This will allow the city to track expenditures and transfer a total of $5,144,120 into the fund for the cost of construction. The money is from the general fund and second penny sales tax reserves.
