South Dakota Could See More Wind Power Projects

There could be a push for more large wind power projects in South Dakota.

Public Utilities Commissioner Chris Nelson says they are tracking a number of possible wind farms

Nelson says they get involved with permits to proceed of planned developments of one hundred megawatts and larger

The federal Production Tax Credit is stepping down over the next few years. Nelson says that is one spur to starting projects

South Dakota consumers now get about thirty percent of their electricity from renewable sources.
