Gas Prices Up an Average of Two Cents Per Gallon in SD

Gas prices are creeping up during a time of the year that they don’t normally rise. Marilyn Bushkohl with Triple-A South Dakota says unleaded gasoline prices are up a couple pennies from last week.

After hurricanes impacted areas of the Gulf Coast and the petroleum industry, prices spiked. Bushkohl says overall prices are expected to return to pre-hurricane levels.

She says the middle of the country has seen the largest bumps in fuel costs.

As for prices across South Dakota, residents in the west are paying up to 10-cents a gallon less than fuel consumers in the east. The price per gallon Monday in Sioux Falls was $2.44 per gallon compared to $2.36 per gallon in Rapid City.
