Moore Calls Effort to Repeal Marsy’s Law “Uninformed”

There may be an effort in the 2018 legislative session to pull back Marsy’s Law, a constitutional amendment approved by voters in 2016. Marsy’s Law is intended to give crime victims additional protections and rights during the prosecution of an alleged offender. The amendment has led to questions about what kinds of information may be released by law enforcement. Representative Mark Mickelson says he will bring a measure to repeal Marsy’s Law and provide a replacement measure for voters to consider during the 2018 election. Moore says he has not seen issues with Marsy’s Law since implementation…

Mickelson, according to a Thursday Associated Press story, says Marsy’s Law has brought too many unintended consequences.
