Fall enrollment is down slightly at South Dakota State University.
The number for this year is 12,527, a drop in the head count of 86 from last Fall.
SDSU President Barry Dunn says the reason is fewer foreign students.
There are 60 fewer international students enrolled this year. There are still more than 900 foreign students at the university. Many of them were concerned last year with President Trump’s travel ban and Dunn that remains an issue.
He says they plan to work hard to assure prospective international students that SDSU is a safe environment.
Enrollment numbers were also down slightly at the School of Mines and Black Hills State and up slightly at USD, Northern and DSU.
Overall system enrollment was up about a third of a percent.
