Orville Chenoweth of Dakota Promotions Inc. has announced his departure as the promoter of the state fairgrounds summer racing program effective at the end of the season championship on August 19th.
In a statement released this afternoon, Chenoweth said he has decided to step down after considerable thought. He went on to express appreciation to “all the race fans, drivers, car owners and sponsors who have supported my efforts over the past 22 seasons.”
Chenoweth said in the release that he “wishes nothing but the best of luck to the next individual or individuals willing to step up and continue to keep the Huron racing tradition going into the future.”
The Speedway Motors Wissota 100 scheduled for September 13th thru the 16th at DSFS will go on as scheduled.
