Back-to-school season is here which is the perfect time to make sure your children are up to date on their vaccines. Pediatrician Dr. Jesse Van Heukelom with Huron Physicians Clinic reminds parents that new vaccine requirements were implemented in 2016 for students entering sixth grade.
Dr. Jesse says peditricians have been recommending these vaccines for years.
Dr Jesse says although it is not required the American Academy of Pediatrics also recommends the HPV vaccine.
Back-to-school is also a good time to schedule your child’s annual physical. These check-ups are often the only visit health school-age kids and teenagers have with their pediatrician every year.
