Two Dead, One Injured in Jerauld County Crash

Two people died and another was seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash 11:40 am Thursday morning west of Wessington Springs.

 Names of the three are not being released pending notification of family members. They were the only people involved.

 A 2006 Ford F-350 pickup was eastbound on South Dakota Highway 34 when it crossed the center line and collided with a westbound 2005 International 8000 truck. The Ford pickup entered the south ditch and started on fire. The male driver, 75, and the male passenger, 30, both were pronounced dead at the scene.

 The 52-year-old male driver of the International truck suffered life-threatening injuries. He was transported to a Wessington Springs hospital and later airlifted to a Sioux Falls hospital.
