Republican US House candidate Dusty Johnson of Mitchell held a series of official campaign kickoff events on Wednesday. Johnson started his day at the Alex Johnson Hotel in Rapid City. He then held an event at the Corn Palace in Mitchell before finishing his day with an event in Sioux Falls. The former chief of staff for Governor Daugaard and Public Utilities Commissioner says he is in the US House race to make a positive difference.
He says work on a new farm bill is critical.
Johnson says he is looking forward to talking to voters about the issues during his campaign stops across the state.
Johnson will face Secretary of State Shantel Krebs in the Republican primary.
