Huron City Commisson Holds Monday Night Meeting

City of HuronThe Huron City Commission spend more time behind closed doors than open ones Monday night. Commissioners met in executive session at five-P-M Monday night to discuss a contractual matter. Just after 5:30 PM the Commission exited executive session to begin the main portion of the meeting. The collection of green containers is a one time collection on December 9th and will not be picked up on December 4th. Commissioners also approved the annual agreement with NECOG, the Northeast Council of Governments. Finance Officer Paullyn Carey says NECOG has been helpful to the city despite a reduced number of federal grant opportunities….

Huron City Commissioners also unanimously approved the 2016 contract with Jim Bigelow for golf professional services at the the city’s two golf courses and approved second reading of a re-zoning petition ordinance that changes the zoning of a parcel of land south of 21st street and east of Ohio Avenue from Multiple Family Residential to General Business District. Commissioners returned to executive session after about 12 minutes of open session to discuss a contractual matter.
