Law Enforcement Searches James River For Signs Of Cyriacks

Rachel CyriacksEver since 30-year-old Rachel Cyriacks was reported missing in November of 2013, law enforcement has maintained that the case is still active and that all tips are looked into. In the time since the tips are few and far between, but a recent lead, sent authorities into the James River Thursday. The South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation confirmed a water search took place in the river. A boat trailer could be seen attached to a vehicle belonging to the Beadle County Office of Emergency Management. Two South Dakota Game Fish and Parks vehicles were also seen near a boat launch on the north side of the 3rd street dam in Huron. Officials with D-C-I did not indicate the nature of the tip that prompted the search. The search appeared to have been conducted north of the low-head dam on the James River in Huron. Law enforcement did not elaborate on the search area. Previous searches for Cyriacks have taken place in parts of Sanborn, Beadle and Jerauld Counties with a helicopter in March of 2014. And searches south of Alpena with cadaver dogs in June of 2014.
