Sergeant Mark Johnson with the Huron Police Department helped coordinate Huron’s fourth time participating in the event that has been held for 32 years by police department’s across the country. Two groups used the event as a fundraiser and did very well…
The Heartland Special Olympics group raised 400-dollars with the dunk tank and the Huron Tennis Team served just shy of 600 hot dogs making around 900-dollars however expenses had yet to be deducted from that number. Johnson sees the success this year as a positive for the event going forward….
Johnson say it was by far the best attended National Night Out since Huron began hosting an event in 2012. He estimates between one and two thousand people took part in the night.
