Laura Ingalls Wilder Convention To Be Held At SDSU

sdsuBROOKINGS, S.D. (AP) – Fans of Laura Ingalls Wilder are flocking to Brookings for the annual convention that celebrates the life and work of the “Little House” author.  The third annual LauraPalooza starts Thursday at South Dakota State University and runs through Friday.  The gathering brings together fans and academics to discuss the literary, cultural and historical impact of Laura Ingalls Wilder and her books.  More than 150 people are expected to attend.  There will be a silent auction of Laura Ingalls Wilder-themed items as well as a reception for authors and artists.
Pamela Smith Hill, who edited Wilder’s autobiography, is scheduled to be the keynote speaker.
The book was released by the South Dakota State Historical Society Press and has sold more than 100,000 copies
