City Commission Meets Tonight

City CommissionThe Huron City Commission is meeting tonight at the Huron Municipal Building for it’s annual re-organizational meeting. That means the formality of swearing in Mark Robish for his second term on the City Commission. Robish was unopposed to keep his spot on the Commission this spring. All of the re-organizational items are included under the consent agenda to be approved at the same time, unless a Commissioner desires to pull an item out and discuss it in depth. The Commission will hold a public hearing on the transfer of a retail on-off sale malt beverage license and an on-off sale wine license between old and new owners of a restaurant in downtown Huron. Second reading is tonight for an ordinance allowing garages on small lots in Huron. Commissioners will consider three resolutions, two of those deal with land with in Village Estates Addition and the third deals with the Southtown Addition area. Commissioners will consider the retirement resignation of Randy Tounsley from the Huron Fire Department and will hold a work session to discuss proposed changes to the city’s fence ordinance. There are no scheduled executive sessions. The Huron City Commission meets tonight at 5:30 PM. The meeting is open to the public.
