Huron Man Sentenced For Rape And Incest

Enecon Ramierz ChillelA Huron man will spend the next 13 years in prison and will then face likely deportation to Guatemala after being sentenced Tuesday to a crime Deputy States Attorney Dan Nelson says he didn’t have the proper words to describe. Enecon Ramirez-Chilel  pleaded guilty January 27th to charges of fourth-degree rape and aggravated incest. A second degree rape charge was dismissed in a plea deal. In court the 35-year-old admitted to forcibly having sexual intercourse with his 14-year-old daughter, getting her pregnant in the process, Defense Attorney Doug Kludt told Judge Jon Erickson what is client did was an “unusual and horrific” crime, but he added that there are a number of factors that Erickson should consider for a lesser sentence. Those items included a very limited previous criminal record and Kludt said nothing in Chilel’s past would have indicated he was capable of such an act. Kludt added his client was genuinely remorseful and accepts responsibility for what he did. The psycho-sexual evaluation performed on Chilel indicated he was a low to moderate risk to re-offend. Nelson says he didn’t need that evaluation or the courts to recognize how heinous the crime was saying quote “for him to betray his daughter’s trust is unthinkable” Nelson says a paternity test came back with 99-percent certainty the fetus was his and says the fact it was Chilel’s own child, took the crime to a new level. Speaking through an interpreter, Chilel apologized and said he deserves his punishment. Erickson sentenced Chilel to 13 years on both charges with the sentences to run concurrently.
