Five area conservation districts are getting grants from the South Dakota Department of Agriculture. The State Conservation Commission approved grants for 20 districts across the state totally 29 projects. The Beadle County Conservation District is getting 25-thousand dollars for a shelterbelt establishment project and 35-thousand dollars for a water quality livestock project. The Brule-Buffalo District will have 35-thousand dollars for a rangeland improvement project. The Davison Conservation District will get money for two projects. One is 11-thousand, 500 dollars for a multi-county brush management project and a shelterbelt project totaling 14-thousand, 500 dollars. The Miner Conservation District will get just under 17-thousand dollar for a cover crop project and 95-hundred for technical assistance. The Sanborn Conservation District will use it’s 25-thousand dollar grant for a shelterbelt project. The funding of the grants is provided under state law which directs a half million dollars be added to the fund each year on July first.
