The South Dakota Attorney General’s office says an Alpena couple is facing at least 25 years in prison and nearly a dozen charges relating to drugs and having drugs around children. Eleven charges each face 36-year-old Cindy Bartunek and 27-year-old Tyler Bartunek. The Bartuneks face charges each of unauthorized manufacture of a substance with high potential for abuse, violation of a drug free zone, keeping a place for use or sale of a controlled substance, unauthorized possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and five counts each of causing a child to be present where any person is using, distributing or manufacturing methamphetamine. The James Valley Drug Task Force along with State Division of Criminal Investigation, Pierre Police Department, Alpena Fire Department and sheriff offices in Jerauld and Sanborn County found meth, hash oil, marijuana and drug paraphernalia in a home on Alpena’s southwest side following the execution of a search warrant last week. The pair is charged with two Class 5 felonies, two Class 4 felonies, six Class 2 misdemeanors and a Class 1 misdemeanors. The Attorney General’s office did not indicate of the Bartunek’s remain in custody or if either has been released on bond.
