Bill Package Comes From Alcoholic Beverage Study Committee

legislatureAn interim South Dakota Legislative committee has agreed to a package of bills dealing with alcohol tax changes.  The Alcoholic Beverage Distribution Study committee wrapped up their summer series Monday in Pierre.  The committee had been working through proposals that would change the way alcohol taxes are charged and collected.  The bills would tax alcohol on a per gallon basis, instead of percentages, similar to the tax on beer.  Jason Evans, with the Department of Revenue, says tax rates will change, but the dollars back to the state stay about the same…
