The Huron City Commission meets tonight at the Huron Municipal Building. Commissioners will meet as the Board of Adjustments to consider two variance requests. Both variances regard the construction of a garage or shed that don’t meet appropriate provisions of city zoning ordinances. When the City Commission reconvenes, Commissioners will consider a change order for a manhole restoration project and will get a semi-annual update from the South Dakota State Fair. The Commission will consider a contract with Banner Engineering for engineering services for improvements for the waste water facility. They will also consider a special event alcohol license filed by the State Fair. Commissioners will consider three plats and consider renewals of trailer court licenses and biennial home occupation permits. The commission will hold first reading of an ordinance amendment regarding 911 services provided by the City of Huron. The Commission will consider two hiring recommendations and an appointment to the Planning Commission. The Huron City Commission will continue their work on expanding work sessions during a work session and is scheduled to meet in executive session for a personnel matter.
