Woonsocket Woman Dies In Weekend Motorcycle Accident

 

AmbulanceAn accident Saturday afternoon near Mitchell has killed a Woonsocket woman. Twenty-two year-old Jordan Hanson of Woonsocket was riding as a passenger on a motorcycle driven by 19-year-old Sean Bass of Alexandria. Bass was driving east on South Dakota Highway 38 when he slowed to prepare for a right hand turn onto Riverside Road. Bass lost control of the bike and slid into the path of a semi-truck driven by 62-year-old David Vanzee of Huron. The semi was coming to a stop on Riverside at Highway 38. As the motorcycle slid, Hanson lost contact with the bike and was run over by the driver’s side front duel tires on the semi-truck. Hanson sustained fatal injuries in the crash. Bass also lost contact with the bike and suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries. Both Hanson and Bass were wearing helmets. Vanzee was seat belted in the semi and was not injured. No further information is available.
