Happy Jacks Casino Burglarized Friday Morning

Huron police say two men broke into a casino early Friday morning and made off with nearly 15-thousand dollars in cash. Sergeant Brandon Neitzert says officers responded Friday morning just before four-A-M to the Happy Jacks Casino in the 1600 block of Dakota Avenue. The first officers arrived on site within sixty seconds of being notified of an active intruder alarm. Responding officers found the rear door unsecured with no signs of forced entry. A small black Sentry digital safe was taken from an office containing the nearly 15-grand in cash. Surveillance footage reviewed by police show two male suspects, entering the rear door of the casino and moving immediately to the area of the safe, then taking it outside through the rear exit. The suspects were in the casino for less than a minute. Both suspects are described as males with medium builds, wearing blue jeans and dark hooded sweatshirts that covered their heads and faces. Security camera still photos have been released on the Department’s Facebook page. Anyone with information about the burglary is asked to contact the Huron Police Department at 353-8550. The crime is a Crimestoppers crime, meaning callers may leave an anonymous tip. A reward may be offered for information leading to an arrest. The Crimestoppers hotline in Huron is 353-8555.
