Governor Holding Pheasant Habitat Summit In Huron In December

Governor Dennis Daugaard announced Tuesday that he’s holding a Pheasant Habitat Summit in Huron in December to discuss the future of pheasant hunting and habitat in South Dakota. The summit will provide a forum for landowners, sportsmen, members of the tourism industry and others to learn about the current state of pheasant habitat in South Dakota. Peggy Woolridge, Executive Director for the Huron Chamber and Visitor’s Center say the Governor couldn’t have selected a better place for the Summit than “Ringneck Nation”…

A recent survey of brood numbers shows fewer birds for this hunting season. Some hunter cancellations have been noted in the Aberdeen and Mitchell areas. Woolridge says they’ve taken many calls from hunters to this point…
