Huron’s long awaited recycling program is a week away from starting for some residents of Huron. Solid Waste Superintendent Dale Fortin says the recycling bins should be in town by the end of the week…

So far 989 households have signed up for the single stream recycling program. A mailing will be sent to households across the city with reminders, tips and information about the recycling program. The Huron City Commission approved an agreement with Advance Recycling Systems to accept Huron’s recyclable goods.
- Week of June 17th: Deliver containers for Monday pick-ups
- Week of June 24th: Monday recycling picked up, Tuesday bins delivered)
- Week of July 1st: Monday and Tuesday recycling picked up. Thursday bins delivered)
- Week of July 8th: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday recycling picked up. Friday bins delivered)
- Week of July 15th: All recycling bins will be picked up on appropriate days)
